Young Women's Group
The Young Women's Group provides LGBTQ+ young women (trans, trans feminine and cis) a space to come
together, make new friends, find information and resources, and build community.
Who: Young people ages 29 and under who identify along the spectrum of being LGBTQ+ and women (trans, trans feminine, and cis) identified
When: Every Friday until December 15, 2017 from 5:30-7:30pm. New dates/times for year 2018 will be announced shortly
- Weekly meetings: Come together to meet your peers and share a meal!
- Discussions: Share your thoughts and talk about things that are important to you!
- Resources: Find out about services and support that are available for you!
- Fun: Enjoy meeting new people and making new friends!
About the Facilitator
Sapphire Woods is a cis queer Black staff member at SOY. Sapphire facilitates with a focus around content creation and strength-based service provision. Having joined SOY in June 2016, Sapphire has taken on relief staffing and facilitation roles for BQY, Express, Alphabet Soup and SOY H.E.A.T. With her Masters in Education, Sapphire aims to create programming at SOY that actively meets the varying and oscillating needs of group members that centres around desires for safety, respect and growth. When Sapphire isn't working, she's probably watering her plants, laughing and eating Oreos.
